More Team-Ups Announced in Deadpool/Batman Crossover
In May 2025, Marvel and DC announced a new, long-awaited crossover with a comic starring Batman and Deadpool. Now, details are emerging about the backup stories that were teased in the first news release.
The crossover begins in Deadpool/Batman when Wade Wilson is hired for a job in Gotham City where he meets a less-than-thrilled Dark Knight. It will be written by Zeb Wells (Spider-Man) with art and main cover by Greg Capullo (Batman, X-Men).
That issue will feature backup stories showcasing fun mashups between Marvel and DC characters. Daredevil will meet Green Arrow in a story by director-writer Kevin Smith (Clerks, Green Arrow) and artist Adam Kubert (Wolverine). Wonder Woman and Captain America star in a feature written by Chip Zdarsky (Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man) and illustrated by Terry Dodson (Wonder Woman). Jeff the Land Shark and Krypto come together in a tale by Kelly Thompson (Captain Marvel) and artist Gurihiru (Avatar: The Last Airbender).
Each of the backup stories will also get their own cover on Deadpool/Batman #1. Daredevil artist Marco Checchetto has provided the Daredevil/Green Arrow cover and Gurihiru has created the Jeff the Land Shark/Krypto cover. The Wonder Woman/Captain America cover and its creator has not been announced. A wraparound variant cover by Capullo depicting the issue’s two stars has also been revealed.
“We’re going to all corners of the Marvel and DC Universes, and the creators are having an absolute blast finding the unexpected and unexplored connections between these characters,” Editor Mark Basso said. “We can’t wait for the fans to experience the same jaw-dropping moments we are! And we’ve got some more secret stories in the works, so keep your eyes peeled for more to be revealed!”
“This has been surreal to say the least!” Zdarsky said. “Captain America and Wonder Woman are the best their worlds have to offer, both warriors for peace. Getting to explore a dynamic and history between them has been genuinely exciting.”

“Two ICONS meeting for the first time!” Thompson said. “It’s such an honor for Jeff to get to be Marvel’s ambassador in this crossover story with Krypto. Anyone who loves comics knows how rare it is for DC and Marvel to crossover, so Jeff getting to be part of this historic moment with Krypto, and Gurihiru and I getting to bring that tale to readers… well, sometimes this job is very cool.”
Deadpool/Batman #1 will be available on September 17, 2025.
