Zenescope Extends Distribution Deal with Universal
Zenescope Entertainment is growing their reach in the US by expanding their partnership with Universal Distribution. The publisher’s complete line of comics, graphic novels, collectibles, and games will now be available to retailers throughout the United States.
The deal is growing out of their previous agreement to distribute Zenescope’s books and merchandise in Canada. The expansion is restoring Zenescope’s broad US distribution and will support their growth across comics, games, and collectibles.
Zenescope was founded in 2005 and is one of the longest running independent comic book publishers. Their flagship title, Grimm Fairy Tales, has grown into multiple interconnected titles that put fantasy, horror, and sci-fi spins on classic fairy tale and literature characters. Stories feature Gretel (of Hansel and Gretel) as a witch hunter, Robyn Hood as a vigilante, and action-based tales with the Musketeers, Belle (from Beauty and the Beast), Jasmin (of Aladdin), and Van Helsing.
“We’ve had a fantastic experience working with Universal so far,” Zenescope Entertainment CEO Joe Brusha said. “They’ve been a tremendous partner, and we’re excited to expand this relationship as they bring our full line of books and products back to retailers across the United States. Having a strong distributor delivering our comics and graphic novels into the US market again is a major step forward for us and creates new opportunities for both Zenescope and comic retailers nationwide.”
