X-Men ’97 Season 2 Trailer Pits the Team Against Apocalypse
Apocalypse wants to destroy the X-Men in first trailer for X-Men ’97 season two. The ancient mutant, originally known as En Sabah Nur, appeared at the end of season one in two separate time periods. In Marvel’s first trailer for season two, he is ready to put his plan into action.
The first season ended with the X-Men trapped across time with Professor Xavier (Ross Marquand), Magneto (Matthew Waterson), Rogue (Lenore Zann), Nightcrawler (Adrian Hough), and Beast (George Buza) in Egypt 3000 BC. Jean Grey (Jennifer Hale) and Cyclops (Ray Chase) were sent far into the future to 3960 AD where they reunite with their children. Meanwhile, Wolverine (Cal Dodd), Storm (Alison Sealy-Smith), and Morph (J.P. Karliak) are missing in action.
The trailer opens on a sad note as Rogue talks to Nightcrawler about what she has lost. Then it shows the X-Men scattered in time far back to when Apocalypse (Marquand) began his reign, to the future when he was at his most powerful. The villain announces that he will strike the X-Men when they are most vulnerable: during the 1990s.
It shows mutants like Jubilee (Holly Chou) and Storm using their powers, Bishop (Isaac Robinson-Smith) declaring that they must get the X-Men back to the ‘90s, and Nightcrawler giving a rousing speech about standing together. There are quick shots of Polaris (Neve Campbell), Beast, Cyclops, Jean Grey, and others, then it ends with a great scene of the team lining up for battle.
X-Men ’97 season two will start streaming on Disney+ on July 1, 2026.
