WW Chicago: Spider-Woman Gets Higher Profile
Spider-Woman will definitely be getting a higher profile in the coming
months.
Featured in the pages of New Avengers and last month’s
Giant Size Spider-Woman #1 (mostly) reprint issue, Jessica
Drew/Spider-Woman finds herself at the center of a flurry of
activity.
Spider-Woman: Origin is a five issue mini-series, set to
debut this December, that is supposed to straighten out once and for all the
many conflicting origins of the character. Writers Brian Michael Bendis and
Brian Reed are matched with Jonathan and Joshua Luna (Ultra,
Girls).
Following Spider-Woman: Origin, a regular, on-going
Spider-Woman series by the Daredevil team of Bendis and artist
Alex Maleev will debut. In the meantime, she’ll continue to be featured in the
pages New Avengers, including issues illustrated by guest artist Frank
Cho (Liberty Meadows).
