Wizard World Adds New Shows; Loses Two
Wizard World has announced several changes to its convention calendar for the remainder of 2017. Notably, both the previously scheduled events in Albuquerque, NM (July 14-16) and Orlando, FL (August 11-13) will not be held. Attendees who purchased tickets and any advance photo ops or autographs for either show will receive automatic refunds. The Albuquerque show has been canceled, while the Orlando show has been postponed until an as-of-yet-unannounced in 2018.
In spite of the loss of Albuquerque and Orlando, Wizard World will be adding several new shows in September, October, and November. These conventions will be held in addition to scheduled conventions in Columbus, OH (August 4-6), Chicago, IL (August 24-27), Nashville, TN (September 8-10), Madison, WI (September 22-24), Oklahoma City, OK (October 27-29), and Austin, TX (November 17-19). Wizard World plans to finalize in each new market and announce the full revised slate in July.
Wizard World is also preparing its announcement of a schedule for 2018, which will nearly double its current roster of shows.
Wizard World events bring together fans of all ages to celebrate the best in movies, television, gaming, live entertainment, comics, sci-fi, graphic novels, toys, original art, collectibles, contests, and more. Children 10 and under are always admitted free with a paid adult. The con is also the place for fans, young and old, to show off their cosplay skills in the famed Wizard World Costume Contest. This annual contest is held on Saturday evening at each show.
