Wile E. Coyote Standalone Taps Writing Team
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. announced plans for a Looney Tunes reboot in 2019. Now, it seems an iconic Looney Tunes character will be heading to the big screen in a standalone animated feature.
Wile E. Coyote, the lifelong nemesis of Road Runner and self-proclaimed super genius, will star in Coyote Vs. Acme. As revealed via Deadline, Jon and Josh Silberman have been tapped to pen the slapstick comedy. The Lego Batman Movie director Chris McKay is producing.
The duo previously served as supervising producers on CBS’ Living Biblically and FX’s hit series It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Additional credits for the Silberman Brothers includes Bordertown for Fox, Deadbeat for Hulu, Good Vibes and Free Agents.
Coyote Vs. Acme will mark the first big screen venture for the Looney Tunes since 1996’s Space Jam and 2003’s Looney Tunes: Back in Action.
