Since her reintroduction into
the DC Comics universe in the pages of Superman/Batman #8-13 by writer
Jeph Loeb and artist Michael Turner, the Girl of Steel has been rocketing up
sales charts.

DC has announced that Superman/Batman: Supergirl,
the trade paperback collecting that story, will be in stores September 14, 2005,
following the sell-out of the hardcover edition of the
collection.

“After the very fast sellouts of Supergirl #0
and #1, it’s clear that reader and retailer enthusiasm for Supergirl is very
strong,” Bob Wayne, DC’s Vice-President – Sales, said in a press release. “We’re
happy to rush this collection out so retailers can put it in the hands of their
customers.”

Supergirl #0 reprinted the previously sold out
Superman/Batman #19 by creators Jeph Loeb, Ian Churchill & Norm
Rapmund. The story tied into Supergirl #1, the first issue of her new
on-going series. Both issues sold out almost immediately.

A second
printing of Supergirl #1 is on the way.
