According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor-radio host-producer-mogul Nick Cannon (who is also Mr. Mariah Carey, by the way) and Atlantic Records are launching a worldwide search for three girls to become Josie and the Pussycats, which of course based on the Archie Comics characters.

The article said that Cannon, hopes the search will produce by a reality show for the competition and a scripted comedy-drama, both to air on Nickelodeon’s TeenNick channel.

The characters were featured on two cartoon series in the 1970s and then a 2001 live-action movie that cast Rachael Leigh Cook, Tara Reid and Rosario Dawson as the trio.
