Web Store Spotlight: Overstreet #50 Hardcovers
This year’s Golden Anniversary edition, The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #50, sold out in record time and already has a second printing of our main edition, the softcover version of the Spawn/Spider-Man crossover by Todd McFarlane, in stores now. Diamond Comic Distributors, however, has been sold out of most of the hardcovers for months and they will not be going back to press. Gemstone Publishing, however, has a handful of copies of them – some down to single-digit supplies – still available as we post this.
This includes McFarlane’s Spawn/Spider-Man hardcover edition, Valiant’s Bloodshot, X-0 Manowar, and Livewire by artist John K. Snyder III (Eight Million Ways To Die), and Beau Smith’s Wynonna Earp by artist Chris Evenhuis.
Also in the just-a-handful-left cateogry is The Big, Big Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #50, our oversized, limited edition, is a deliberate throwback to 1970’s first edition of the Guide, as longtime fans will see at first glance. Gemstone Publishing’s Creative Director, Mark Huesman, created this cover.
The standard hardcover editions of Overstreet #50 retail for $37.50, and the Big, Big edition carries a $49.50 cover price. All are presently available as we post this. Prices do not include shipping and handling. As always, we recommend checking with your local comic shop first, but if they don’t have them, we do. For a least a few more minutes.
“We’ve been blown away by the demand for this big anniversary edition of the Guide,” said J.C. Vaughn, Vice-President of Publishing for Gemstone. “It’s been two decades since we did a second printing, and we’ve never sold out as quickly at Diamond as we did this year. When these hardcover editions and the Big, Big version are gone, they’re gone. Based on what we’re hearing, people will be glad they got a copy.”
