Walking Dead Series in Full Color for First Time
Image and Skybound Entertainment are returning to The Walking Dead 17 years after the zombie series created by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard became a pop culture phenomenon. The series is being rereleased in full color treatment, featuring the work of Dave McCaig. The new issues began in October 2020 with The Walking Dead Deluxe #1.
The deluxe revival will commemorate major character introductions and the series’ most memorable twists and turns. Each issue will come with a fresh installment of “The Cutting Room Floor,” featuring Kirkman’s handwritten plots, commentary on storylines that were not used, and plot points that differ from the finished products. It will come with variant covers by David Finch, Tony Moore, Julian Totino Tedesco, and Arthur Adams.
There are no current plans to have this presentation of the series collected in trade paperback form. The first issue will be available on October 7 then each month after that two issues will be released. The Walking Dead Deluxe #1 cover A by David Finch and Dave McCaig (Diamond Code AUG200027), cover B by Tony Moore and Dave McCaig (Diamond Code AUG200028), cover C by Charlie Adlard (Diamond Code AUG200029), cover D by Julian Totino Tedesco (Diamond Code AUG200030), and cover E by Arthur Adams (Diamond Code AUG200031).
