Dark Horse Comics has announced a slate of well known industry talents that are contributing to Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight – Villains and Vignettes. The next four issues in the anthology series will follow “the desperate villains, deadbeat heroes, and fallen monsters who call Twilight City home,” per the press release.

The first issue has a dark story about superpowers, fanaticism, and supplements from the manosphere. It has covers by Scott Hepburn (Minor Threats) and Joe Quinones (She-Hulk), Mark Waid (Justice League Unlimited), and Scott Kolins (The Flash).

Then Minor Threats writers Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum reunite and are joined by Mike Mignola (Hellboy) for a story on the origins of deceased kaiju of Redport. In the final story, Minor Threats co-creator Scott Hepburn pens a tale with artist Cary Nord (Conan the Barbarian) about Frankie Follis’ past to when Playtime was born.

Minor Threats #2-4 features the Justice League International team of J.M. DeMatteis and Kevin Maguire, the Rogues Gallery co-creators Hannah Rose May and Justin Mason, and Dan Hernandez (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem screenwriter) teaming up with The Boys co-creator Darick Robertson.

“This volume of Welcome to Twilight was an absolute dream come true, bringing together iconic creators who inspired the comics we write as well as some of the greatest up and coming talent who constantly make us jealous – all unleashing their twisted brains on the world of Minor Threats and populating new corners of our fantastic city,” Blum said. “And I don’t use ‘dream’ lightly, I’m still not sure we actually got to write a story for Mike friggin’ Mignola. If this was a prank, no one tell me.”

“I was flattered to be asked to participate, knowing what a murderers row of talent has already played in the Minor Threats sandbox,” Waid said. “To be paired once more with Scott Kolins was an even bigger thrill. Our story is about the Alex Jones of the MT Universe – a sleazebag selling supplements that’ll give you powers – and a very dissatisfied customer and, boy, was it fun to write.”

“Two years ago, Patton and Jordan signed a Minor Threats poster for me and invited me to come play in their world,” May said. “I thought they were kidding, turns out, they weren’t. It’s been such a blast teaming up with them, reuniting with the extraordinary Justin Mason and getting to tell a story in this rich universe. Every supervillain needs a good attorney (or a slightly corrupt one), and that’s exactly what Goldstein & King are. Get ready for objections to be sustained in this all-new story, Supervillains at Law, from the world of Minor Threats.”

Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight – Villains and Vignettes #1 arrives in comic shops on October 28, 2026.
