The Boys prequel Vought Rising is growing with the additions of Raphael Sbarge, Aaron Douglas, Romi Shraiter, and David Hewlett in recurring roles. Details on their characters have not been revealed.

They join series leads Jensen Ackles, Aya Cash, Mason Dye, Will Hochman, Elizabeth Posey, KiKi Layne, Brian J. Smith, Jordan Myrie, Ricky Stafferi, and Nicolo Pasetti. Additional recurring cast members are Cecily Strong, Mark Pellegrino, Annie Shapero, and Eric Johnson.

Vought Rising was originally announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2024, where The Boys TV show creator Eric Kripke described it as “a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s.” He also stated that it will follow Soldier Boy’s early adventures and Stormfront’s “diabolical maneuvers” when she was going by Clara Vought.

Sbarge is known for Once Upon a Time and Murder in the First, he recently starred in The Exorcist: Believer and is currently appearing in Task. Douglas starred in Battlestar Galactica, he was in Murder in a Small Town, and appeared in episodes of Resident Alien, Motherland: Fort Salem, and Stick. Shraiter was in the first three seasons of Ginny & Georgia and will have a recurring role in Little Bird. Hewlett starred in Stargate Atlantis, and he was in The Shape of Water, Cabinet of Curiosities, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Paul Grellong is the showrunner and executive producer on Vought Rising. The executive producing team also includes Kripke, comic creators Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, and several others. Ackles and Cash are also producers on the project.

Vought Rising is the fourth spinoff of The Boys. The franchise also includes the animated anthology The Boys Presents: Diabolical, the college set Gen V (season two begins in September 2025), and the upcoming The Boys: Mexico (produced by actors Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal).
