y Hartline, best known for her work on ABC’s Super Circus (where she
reigned as ”Queen” from January 1949 to December 1955), was no stranger to
Queendom. By the time Claude Kirchner, Super Circus’s ringmaster referred to her
as ”our Queen,” Hartline had already experienced a glorious reign as ”Queen of
Love and Beauty,” her high school’s equivalent of prom queen.<br><br>2. Mary’s
first broadcast job was as a member of ABC radio’s Teen Town in 1946. The show
was also briefly known as Junior Junction. She co-starred with later-Bewitched
star Dick York (who served as town mayer). Though Mary was touted as bandleader
and trumpet soloist, her knowledge of trumpeteering ended with childhood.
