Valiant Beyond: Bloodshot #2
Valiant; $4.99
Bloodshot was sent to Tokyo to find the makers of a powerful new drug called B-S. But what he found was vampires. A lot of vampires. His determined efforts to dispatch the bloodsuckers was working very well, until Bloodshot was out maneuvered and put in serious trouble.
Valiant Beyond: Bloodshot #2 picks up with our hero learning all the gory details about the origin and curse of vampirism. Following a confrontation with his new nemesis, Bloodshot also sees how the vampires of Tokyo survive, and some of the horrors they have committed. Bloodshot is really in the thick of it.
The first issue by writer Mauro Mantella was a fast run through the streets of Tokyo, with the art team of Fernando Heinz Furukawa, Juan Pablo Massa, Rocío Zucchi, and Ludwig Olimba presenting his bloody fights with multiple vampires. This issue slows things down a bit to lay out the depth of the situation and Bloodshot’s own circumstances. The lack of fast-paced violence does not kill his progress, however. This issue carries suspense and intensity as Bloodshot learns more about the vampires and tries to stay alive while doing it.
