Updated GoFundMe for Comic Artist Tom Tenney
Comic artist Tom Tenney has spent over 30 years working with Marvel, DC, Image and other publishers. His work has been featured in multiple Robotech titles, The Terminator, Force Works, Avengers books, Youngblood titles, Iron Man, and Guy Gardner, among others. Tenney and his family are in financial need, and a GoFundMe campaign has been created to help them.
Tenney has advanced COPD, the progressive lung disease that makes it difficult to breath and circulate oxygen throughout the body. It is an incurable disease in which infections, breathing cold air, stress, and other factors can become deadly. Additionally, Tenney’s significant other is diabetic, and her daughter is autistic, therefore consistent medical care and stability are essential for their family.
Due to all of the costs they have faced, Tenney and his family have lost their home in Florida. According to the GoFundMe page, they have been sleeping on friends’ couches and in their car. Tenney stated that they are “barely scaping by and about destitute.”
Over the last month, Tenney has had multiple stays in the hospital that have hindered his ability to do any art and make money. “We can’t even afford the essentials and medications being prescribed me or the oxygen the hospital wants me on daily. My family and I are surviving off of the bare minimum and that is about to end,” Tenney wrote on the GoFundMe page.
All of the money raised in the fundraiser will go to necessary medications and medical care, as well as basic survival needs like food and other essentials.
