Phil Latter, a comic book collector and writer/interviewer for firstcomicsnews.com, reported of the theft of hundreds of his comics. On September 27-28, 2015 the large group of comic books were stolen from a home in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. The comics were in the process of being brought into a home when they were stolen from the homeowners’ driveway. The comics were in an olive green suitcase, containing three boxes of vintage superhero comics, totaling over 280 books. An image of the suitcase accompanies this article.

The books were in three boxes, spanning the 1940s through the 1970s. The missing books include WWII rarities, Green Lantern #1 (Alan Scott), Batman #9, #29, and #33, Detective Comics #45, #46, and #101, Atomic Thunderbolt #1, X-Men #1-38, and numerous others.

All of the details regarding the theft are available at firstcomicsnews.com. They have a complete list of missing titles posted as well as 40 cover scans. Note, the scans are not of the missing books, but examples of them.
