Back before free agency became commonplace in the world of professional
sports, it was uncommon for players to jump from team to team throughout their
career the way Daniel “Rusty” Staub did while a professional baseball
player.

In addition to the fact that Staub played for four different
major league ball clubs, racking up at least 500 hits with all four (Houston,
Montreal, New York, and Detroit), two of the teams that he played for are no
longer in the MLB as they once were. The Houston Colt 45’s are now know as the
Houston Astros and the Montreal Expos now call the nation’s capital home as the
Washington Nationals.

Staub had an illustrious career that was full of
record-breaking achievements, many of which still stand to this day.
