Ultraman made an appearance at Dodger Stadium on August 26, 2025, during their game against the Cincinnati Reds. He was there courtesy of a partnership agreement between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tsuburaya Productions, the studio behind Ultraman content.

The Japanese superhero headed to the field during the game for a short battle with the monster, Baltan. Ultraman also participated in a ceremonial first pitch with Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Baltan. During the game, fans were encouraged to do their best Ultraman pose for the DodgerVision screens.

The original Ultraman debuted in 1966, introducing the Scientific Special Search Party, a worldwide police force that used special weapons to combat various monsters. The group’s best member, Shin Hayata, had the ability to use a special artifact called the “Beta Capsule” to turn into the super-powered space giant, Ultraman, when the SSSP needed more help. The Ultra series has since encompassed dozens of television shows and films, Ultraman Kids shows, and other forms of media.

“Having Ultraman step onto the field at the legendary Dodger Stadium is a further celebration of how sports and pop culture unite fans across generations,” Tsuburaya Fields Holdings chairman Hidetoshi Yamamoto said. “We are thrilled to have Ultraman join the team, even if just for a moment, for a day of fun the whole family can enjoy!”

This is the third similar themed night at Dodgers game this season. On July 3, they partnered with Toei Animation for a One Piece night celebrating the popular Japanese franchise. Their August 15 game was a Demon Slayer night with an exclusive hat available as a special giveaway.
