Hake’s Auctions has become a dependable source for rare, desirable, and high value Star Wars action figures. Their premier Auction #246 continues that tradition with high grade examples, hard to find figures, and international material among the Star Wars toy highlights.

One of the most impressive Star Wars pieces in the auction is the Jawa 12-back-A vinyl cape variety AFA 95, which is the highest graded example that Hake’s has offered. This early example of the Jawa was made with a vinyl cape that was later changed to a cloth cape for the rest of the releases. The figure is on an unpunched card. Only three examples have been graded an AFA 95, according to AFA’s current population report.

The Empire Strikes Back 4-Lom 48-back-A AFA 50 is one of only five examples of this variation graded by AFA. This version of 4-Lom is the rarest production figure from all of Kenner’s Star Wars toy lines, which typically appeared on the 48-back-C card with an Admiral Ackbar offer. “An extremely hard to come by Kenner piece, this 4-Lom represents that much sought-after missing piece from many of the most advanced Star Wars collections,” per Hake’s description.

The Return of the Jedi Princess Leia Organa (combat poncho) 77-back-A AFA 60 is in a Tsukuda seal with a coin. Tsukuda was one of three Japanese distributors for Kenner’s Star Wars figures, but when Kenner released their Power of the Force line, Tsukuda chose not to sell packaged Power of the Force figures. Instead, they sold Return of the Jedi carded figures with Power of the Force coins glued to the card then individually shrink wrapped them with a white cardboard backer behind the blister card. This example comes with the Rebel Leader Leia coin showing her in a gown, not in the Combat Poncho.

The Hungarian bootleg Return of the Jedi Boba Fett AFA Qualified 85 figure is on a blue card and is packaged with Chewbacca’s bowcaster weapon. A series of ten Hungarian Star Wars figures were released in 1987 and are considered as desirable as the better known Turkish Uzay bootlegs. The figures are slightly smaller than the Kenner figures, and do not have any copyright information on the back of their legs or holes on undersides of their feet. They were made from a lower quality injection mold plastic and often featured shoddy paint jobs.

The Power of the Force Imperial Gunner first shot/photo sample action figure AFA 85 was used for photography purposes by Kenner. A popular figure as a regular production piece, this rare first shot/photo sample combo is among the most sought after first shots from the Power of the Force line. Only two examples have been graded by AFA and both are graded AFA 85. It comes with a photo print of the figure by Kenner photographer Kim Simmons, who signed and numbered the print.

More Star Wars highlights are a Brazilian Glasslite Star Wars: Droids Vlix AFA 60, a Star Wars Princess Leia Organa 12-back-A AFA 90, Star Wars Early Bird Mail-Away Kit (with a Luke Skywalker (double-telescoping lightsaber), Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and R2-D2) CAS 85, Boba Fett 21-back-B AFA 85, Star Wars Luke Skywalker 12-back-A AFA 85, and a Star Wars Boba Fett 12” Series CAS 85+.

Hake’s Auction #246 contains 1,424 lots of pop culture and Americana collectibles, including comic books, campaign memorabilia, vintage toys, original art, early baseball items, and more. The auction closes soon with historical and Americana items ending on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, and pop culture material wrapping up on Wednesday, March 25.
