The X-Men Return in Avengers: Doomsday Teaser
The X-Men have finally arrived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The latest Avengers: Doomsday teaser catches up with three key players from the X-Men films, in a somber setting.
The one minute trailer pans through Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, where instead of students and teachers, viewers see broken furniture and moldy books. A shot of Professor Xavier’s (Patrick Stewart) wheelchair is followed by a metal chess piece moving via Magneto’s (Ian McKellen) powers. The two old frenemies grasp each other’s hands and share a smile, then the serene scene cuts to Cyclops (James Marsden) blasting his surroundings with his power.

The characters from the 20th Century Fox X-Men movies are joining the MCU in Avengers: Doomsday, following Stewart’s cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Kelsey Grammer as Hank McCoy/Beast in The Marvels post-credits stinger. The three characters featured in the trailer will be joined by Hank, Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), and Kurt Wagner (Alan Cumming), as well as X-Men character Gambit (Channing Tatum) who recently debuted in Deadpool and Wolverine.

The next Avengers movie will feature a huge cast, led by Robert Downey Jr. stepping into the new role as Doctor Doom, and heralds the MCU returns of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers and Chris Hemsworth as Thor (both of whom appeared in earlier teasers). The cast also includes Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Simu Liu, and the principal casts from The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Thunderbolts*, among others.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released in theaters on December 18, 2026, and its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is scheduled to come out on December 17, 2027.
