The Fantastic Four and the X-Men will join forces to stop a global threat in the event series, DNX. The original Hank McCoy, aka founding X-Man Beast, and his group of villains called 3K plan to spread a virus that will turn all humans into mutants – whether they want it or not.

The book is written by Jed MacKay, which has been building in his X-Men run and will impact the main title moving forward and upsets “the very balance between mutantkind and humanity as we know it,” per Marvel. Featuring art by Federico Vicentini (Miles Morales: Spider-Man), the five-issue DNX series begins in September 2026.

Cyclops, the leader of the X-Men, and McCoy, now going by the Chairman, both experienced what would happen in the future during the Age of Revelation. Armed with that knowledge, Cyclops and the X-Men want to prevent the future, while the Chairman and 3K wish to own it. To stop it from happening, the X-Men ask the Fantastic Four to help before the Chairman can unleash the X-Virus in an area filled with people.

“DNX is the next big milestone event of our X-Men (2024) run,” MacKay said. “Age of Revelation showed the future, and DNX shows that future’s impact on the present! The X-Men and 3K are on a collision course that has been set since issue one – and only one will survive. And with the Fantastic Four joining the fray, this is going to be an event that will transform the X-Men dramatically.”

“I’m so happy to be working on DNX,” Vicentini said. “I love what Jed is doing with X-Men (2024), and I’ve been telling him for a long time that I wanted to work with him. Now the opportunity has arrived, and it’s an even bigger challenge because I finally have the chance to work on the Fantastic Four too!

“I can’t say anything about the plot, obviously, but I want you to know that I’m very excited about what we’re doing, and I’m sure it’ll be something you’ll definitely want to read. That’s how I feel both as the artist and as a fan!” Vicentini added.

Kaare Andrews is providing the main cover with a hidden cover, so that readers will see one cover on the shelf and an alternate version hidden beneath it. Chip Zdarsky, Ryan Steman, Marco Checchetto, and John Tyler Christopher are providing the regular variant covers.

DNX #1 will be part of the True Believers Blind Bags program with special sealed bags featuring an exclusive variant cover that is not available to order. This includes one of a kind hand-drawn sketch covers from a slate of surprise artists. The True Believers Blind Bags will feature variant covers by Skottie Young, Leinil Francis Yu, Fanyang, Artgerm, John Tyler Christopher, Chris Giarrusso, Ken Lashley, and others.
