The latest round of Tuesday-closing offerings at eMoviePoster.com are underway, and they spotlight a return to their popular “The World of Movie Posters” theme. Up for bid are 850 non-U.S. posters from 26 different countries.

Given the international theme for this auction, the event holds many double-sided posters, quads and other over-sized versions. Some feature rare art for that was made available for the international versions. Star Wars fans are going to want to check out the British quad for Return of the Jedi.

Classics listed in this event include a 1956 Belgian poster for Godzilla King of the Monsters (Gojira, the unstoppable titan of terror!), a Belgian version of King Kong (art of Fay Wray, Robert Armstrong and the giant ape), from Japan Fifth Element (Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich), a French version of Fellini’s 8 ½, a German Le Mans (Steve McQueen), from Russia War and Peace, a Belgian version of Evil of Frankenstein (Peter Cushing), a Finnish Flash Gordon (Sam Jones, art by Casaro), a Spanish Executive Suite (William Holden and Barbra Stanwyck), a Yugoslavian Secrets of a Sensuous Nurse (Ursula Andress), from Finland The Ten Commandments (Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner), Swedish His People (1925), from France, Le Duolus (Jean-Paul Belmondo), and from Finland A Hard Day’s Night (The Beatles)

Several posters come straight from theatres on the island of Japan. These include Grave of the Fireflies, and a double-sided teaser for Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. Also included are Danish posters for In a Colt’s Shadow (Wenzel artwork of a cowboy), Ugly Ones (spaghetti western) and the John Ford epic How the West Was Won (Gregory Peck, Debbie Reynolds, many others)

British quads listed in this auction include a Genghis Khan (Omar Sharif), Empire Strikes Back (art by Tom Jung), Pulp Fiction (Quentin Tarantino, Uma Thurman), Fritz Lang’s Metropolis, a double-sided version of Billy Wilder’s Double Indemnity (Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray), Ghost Dog (Forest Whitaker), Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof, Matrix (Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss),  Reservoir Dogs (different than American version), Hammer at the Barbican (Christopher Lee), Last Sunset (Rock Hudson and Kirk Douglas, different art) and Long Hot Summer (Tom Chantrell art of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward).

Results from their most recent Tuesday-closing auction included a one-sheet for Texas Chain-Saw Massacre that brought $535. An early re-release for Easy Rider went for $405, and a great surfing poster for Big Surf realized $386.
