Dark Horse has announced that the complete graphic novel adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s “Wiedźmin” (“The Witcher”) short story has been collected in one volume. The Witcher: The Last Wish – The Complete Collection oversized deluxe hardcover is being released in time for the story’s 40th anniversary.

That story introduced Geralt of Rivia and the world of The Witcher, and originally ran in the Polish fantasy magazine, Fantastyka. The graphic novel adaptation contains Sapkowski’s short stories The Witcher, A Grain of Truth, The Lesser Evil, A Question of Price, The Edge of the World, and The Last Wish.

Sapkowski’s stories are connected by a new, never before published adaptation of “The Voice of Reason” framing story. The complete collection has a new cover with foil stamping, silver foil gilded edges, a cover gallery, sketchbook section, and ribbon bookmark. It comes with a foreword by bestselling author Peter V. Brett (The Demon Cycle).

“Geralt is caught between violent feuds, beastly curses, and the confines of destiny in these tales of tragedy, passion, and bloodlust. Geralt sets out to claim a bounty on a bloodthirsty creature, but he is to cure the monstrosity, not slay it, for the creature is said to be retribution for the king’s dark secret. Next, Geralt encounters a beast with the faculties of man and discovers that within fairy tales, the truth is revealed,” Dark Horse’s synopsis reads. “Then, superstitions of an inborn evil pit a mage against a young woman, but with each committing acts of cruelty and carnage, who is the true evil? And fate plays a hand at a banquet to find a suitor for the princess when a mysterious guest ignites chaos within the royal family. In another story, Geralt and Dandelion search for a devil who they are to cast out, but not kill. Finally, witness Geralt and the sorceress Yennefer’s first encounter as they battle a djinn whose power lies beyond granting wishes.”

In addition to Sapkowski’s work, The Witcher: The Last Wish – The Complete Collection features stories by Jacek Rembis, Magdalena Salik, Marta Krajewska, Aleksandra Zielinska, Marcin Zwierzchowski, and Milena Zając. It features art by Jonas Scharf, Adam Gorham, Tommaso Bennato, Matteo Bellisario, Michael Dowling, Guillermo Fajardo, and Fabiana Mascolo. The colorists include Jose Villarrubia, Patricio Delpeche, Chris O’Halloran, Igor Monti, Luis NCT, Neeraj Menon, and Fabiana Mascolo.

The Witcher: The Last Wish – The Complete Collection will be in stores on December 15, 2026.
