Zod is one of the most dangerous, determined, and formidable foes that Superman has faced, and his latest plan for domination will take the entire Super-Family to stop him in Kingdom of Zod. Superman will lead the Super-Family against General Dru-Zod in a crossover that runs in Supergirl, Action Comics, Superman Unlimited, and Superman.

The event series is written by Joshua Williamson, Sophie Campbell, Mark Waid, and Dan Slott, with art by Eddy Barrows, Joe Quinones, Montos, and Rachael Stott. The Kingdom of Zod story will be told in August and September 2026.

“The story begins on August 12 in Supergirl #16, when a mysterious military coup dangerously destabilizes the Kryptonite Kingdom of El Caldero. Supergirl assembles her own strike team – a Super-Force including Superboy-Prime, Conner Kent, Tomorrow Man, Steel, and more – to infiltrate the occupied territory,” per the synopsis. “Fresh off the epic Reign of the Superboys storyline, Kara’s Superboy crew is shocked to discover this conquering force is Kryptonian in origin…and deadly. That same day, Action Comics #1101 sees Superman crash-land back into the present day after the events of Action Comics #1100 (no spoilers here!), only to find himself immediately drawn into the escalating conflict.”

After the first issue in the Kingdom of Zod crossover debuts in Supergirl #16, the story continues in Superman Unlimited #16 on August 19 when Zod spreads a Kryptonian infection around the world. Then in Superman #41 (out on August 26) Superman, Supergirl, and Superboy-Prime lead the Super-Family in a fight against Zod “that will reshape the future of the House of El,” according to DC.

The Kingdom of Zod continues in Supergirl #17, Action Comics #1102, Superman Unlimited #17, and Superman #42 throughout September. Then the crossover ends with the Superman: Kingdom of Zod Special one-shot, set for release on September 30.

Guillem March has created connecting covers for the four issues that release in August and Mark Spears provides foil variant covers for the crossover. Additional variant covers are provided by Noobovich, Stephanie Hans, Joe Quinones, Ariel Olivetti, Mike Choi, ACO, Taurin Clarke, Vincenzo Riccardi, and Christian Ward.
