The Slab

“In The Slab, Jeff Mariotte
grabs the reader’s mind bare-handed and drags you through the unraveling of
human interactions,” wrote best-selling author Kevin J. Anderson.
“It’s insightful, potent, powerful – and downright creepy.” That’s
great, but what did he leave for the rest of us reviewers to say? It’s written
by longtime comic scribe Jeff Mariotte (Desperadoes) and features some
great spot illustrations and a cover by artist Tommy Lee Edwards.

Dark Horse Comics; $19.95

This book is just as awesome as the first
volume in the series. Reprinting Mac Raboy’s 1953-1958 Sunday strips is clearly
a labor of love for Dark Horse publisher Mike Richardson (a longtime Flash
Gordon fan), but it should practically be considered a public service to comics
and comics history.
