The Muppet Show is coming back for a 50th anniversary special in February 2026. A teaser trailer was released to promote the show, featuring Kermit the Frog turning on the lights in a large theater.

Seth Rogen and Sabrina Carpenter are executive producers on the special, with Alex Timbers as the director and executive producer. Carpenter will also appear in the special, which will feature music and comedy from the beloved Muppets. Voice actors Bill Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman, and Matt Vogel are among the talents who will voice the puppets.

Created by Jim Henson, The Muppet Show starred the beloved Muppet characters like Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Scooter, Animal, and many others. The variety program featured sketch comedy, musical performances, backstage gags, and recurring segments. Celebrity guest stars like Steve Martin, Julie Andrews, Sylvester Stallone, Carol Burnett, Elton John, Diana Ross, Christopher Reeve, and many others appeared on the show. It premiered in the fall of 1976 and ran for five seasons through 1981.

The Muppet Show special will air on ABC and stream on Disney+ on February 4.
