
The Marvel Art of Mike Zeck Deluxe Art Book on Kickstarter
Clover Press and Marvel have crafted a deluxe art book showcasing artist Mike Zeck’s many contributions to Marvel titles. The Marvel Art of Mike Zeck highlights his work illustrating characters like Spider-Man, Captain America, and many others. The book is now seeking backers on Kickstarter.
Zeck first made his mark on Marvel in 1977 as the penciler on Shang-Chi, Master of Kung-Fu. He illustrated the Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars 12-issue series, which included designing Spider-Man’s black costume. He worked on the “Kraven’s Last Hunt” storyline in Spider-Man titles that gave the character a darker tone, and he is known for his work in Captain Marvel, The Punisher, and Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe.
Clover Press and Marvel are working together on The Marvel Art of… line of high-end boutique art books that showcase artists who have left an indelible mark on Marvel comics. The Marvel Art of Mike Zeck is the tenth release in the coffee table book series featuring never before seen art, portfolios, and prints. Measuring 9” x 12”, the 224-page book features a spot gloss cover, red gilded edges, and a cloth bookmark. Collectors can order a regular edition, one with a dust jacket showcasing two images from his well known stories, and a Kickstarter-exclusive slipcase that highlights a selection of his work.

The hardcover book retails for $75, the dustjacket edition is $85, the slipcase edition is $100, and an edition signed by Zeck is $140. Add-ons are available, including three 9-plate portfolios, postcards, a 1,000-piece puzzle, Hero Caps sheets, and original art facsimiles.
“I’m excited to see so much of my Marvel work brought together in one prestige format volume featuring the characters, covers, stories, and artwork that have connected with readers over the years, and happy to be able to share it with the fans who have supported my work throughout my career,” Zeck said
The Marvel Art of Mike Zeck is the tenth release in the coffee table book series from Clover Press and Marvel. The collaboration between the two publishers began in 2023 with The Marvel Art of David Mack and The Marvel Art of Alex Maleev. It was followed by books focused on the work of Michael Allred, Russell Dauterman, Mike Del Mundo, Dan do Santos, Tyler Kirkham, David Nakayama, and Michael Turner.
The project started with a goal of $10,000, and had already raised $123,507 at press time. The Kickstarter campaign for The Marvel Art of Mike Zeck closes on June 10, 2026.
