Tragic romance has always been prime fodder for popular storytelling. Romeo and Juliet. Antony and Cleopatra…the Joker and Harley Quinn!?! Though the characters were created over 50 years apart, the Joker and Harley have quickly become one of comics’ hottest couples.

While the Joker was originally introduced in the pages of Batman # 1 (Spring 1940), Harley Quinn made her first appearance in a September 1992 episode of Batman: The Animated Series. Proving quite popular on television, and in a subsequent handful of out-of-continuity comic book specials, Harley was finally incorporated into the Dark Knight’s mainstream comic book continuity. In October 1999, a one-shot special titled Batman: Harley Quinn adapted her animated origin, modifying it to make her a better fit into Batman’s darker and more serious comic book world.

The Joker and Harley Quinn Deluxe Collector Figures from DC Direct bring the psychotic duo to three-dimensional “life” as realistically proportioned 1:6 scale figures. Garbed in authentically detailed real fabric costumes, each figure comes packed in a 4-color window box, with a display stand and character specific accessories, and features 28 points of articulation, the Joker includes his gas spewing jester-headed cane, a fish shaped gun, and a deck of playing cards. Harley Quinn includes three sets of interchangeable hands, an oversized gun, and a large wooden mallet.
