The Grinch Goes from Green to Gold on Collectible Coin
The Grinch’s heart grew three sizes after he met Cindy Lou Who, and now it has turned to gold. The holiday grump who found the Christmas spirit in How the Grinch Stole Christmas is appearing on the first official Dr. Seuss one ounce gold coin. It is now available, exclusively through Rare Collectibles TV.
“Since his creation in 1957, the Grinch has captured hearts around the world through books, television, and film. Now, this timeless icon of Christmas spirit is available in one full ounce of gleaming .9999 fine gold, marking a historic first in the world of numismatics,” Rare Collectibles TV co-founder Jack McNamara said. “With an extremely limited mintage of just 99 coins, this exclusive RCTV release represents the perfect fusion of artistry, nostalgia, and immense rarity.”
The observe/front of the coin depicts the furry Grinch with a mischievous look on his face and the comedic motto, “E Pluribus Fun ‘Em.” The reverse/back of the coin features the house from Oh, the Places You’ll Go, which is a theme on all the initial coins in the Dr. Seuss series. “Dr. Seuss” is repeated in the background, and “One Dollar 1 Oz .9999 Gold” is on the top and right rim.
Each Grinch gold coin is graded a perfect Mint State 70 and is encapsulated with a special Dr. Seuss insert label by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS).
Each Grinch gold coin comes with one of the original 2025 dated silver Grinch coins that began the Dr. Seuss coin series. The first 100 silver Grinch coins were saved to be included with the gold coins and are differentiated from the later silver coins with a PCGS designation as “1 of First 100 Struck.”
“For nearly seven decades, the tale of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! has warmed hearts, generation after generation. Now, that spirit lives on in this first ever official Dr. Seuss collectible gold coin,” McNamara said. “It is a true modern numismatic masterpiece where the magic of storytelling meets precious metal craftsmanship.”
The Grinch one ounce gold coins are $6,995.
