It’s still pretty hot in many parts of the U.S., but September means fall and fall means Halloween and scary movies. For those folks looking for a good horror flick, Terrifier, one of the scariest movies to already come out in 2018, is now available on Netflix.

Terrifier begins with two women who are out celebrating Halloween – typical young adult fun – when they start getting stalked by a very, very scary looking clown. Things quickly take a turn for the worse for these ladies and the unfortunate people who cross Art the Clown’s path.

Art the Clown was first introduced in 2013’s All Hallows’ Eve, an indie horror film told in anthology format. The story with Art is the standout of the movie, which prompted interest in a solo film. Terrifier was released in select theaters last spring, as well as Blu-ray and DVD and is now available on Netflix.

Make no mistake, Terrifier is not a horror film marketed toward casual fans. It is very frightening and gory – aspects that are more often found in independent films over mainstream horror. A green band trailer is available on YouTube.

In June, Scoop talked to Terrifier star David Howard Thornton, who played the extremely frightening Art the Clown. He talked about ways he made the character frightening, compared mainstream to indie horror, crowdfunding, Art’s makeup, his favorite horror movies, and more.
