Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany is negotiating a deal to play the lead role in the Disney+ Marvel series She-Hulk, according to Variety. The series will follow superheroine She-Hulk and her alter ego, lawyer Jennifer Walters.

Director Kat Coiro is currently in negotiations to serve as showrunner and direct episodes of Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ She-Hulk series. According to Deadline, she’ll direct the pilot and lead other episodes as well as serve as executive producer. She would work alongside lead writer Jessica Gao (Rick and Morty).

Maslany is praised for playing multiple characters on the sci-fi hit, Orphan Black. She also starred in 3Below: Tales of Arcadia and in 2020 she appeared in the Perry Mason reboot.

Coiro’s credits include directing episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Mick, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Modern Family. She directed the romcom Marry Me with Jennifer Lopez, which will be released in February 2021.

She-Hulk is part of the MCU’s Phase 4 shows that will be exclusively available on the Disney+ platform. The initial line of shows included The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Hawkeye, and Loki. The addition of She-Hulk is joined by Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel.

Production is set to begin in 2021.
