IDW Publishing; $3.99

A new incarnation of the super team created by the late Wally Wood is always something to approach cautiously; the originals could be a bit dry on the story side, but they have stood the test of time. This new version of the T.H.U.N.D.E.R Agents arrives with quick appearances of Iron Maiden, NoMan, and Lightning, but it centers on the origin of Dynamo, and it also seems to quickly blow right through the previously mentioned caution.

For those unfamiliar with the team, its supporting characters, and its foes, this is a highly accessible introductory issue. For old school T.H.U.N.D.E.R Agents fans, this is definitely a modern take the team, but it’s just as definitely not alien to the Tower Comics days of old.

Give it a try!
