The Walking Dead star Chad L. Coleman is trading in killing walkers to be a villain on Superman & Lois. He has been cast in the role of Bruno Mannheim, the head of Intergang, for the third season of the super-family show.

His casting quickly follows on the heels of the announcement that the series found its new Jonathan Kent in Michael Bishop.

According to the character description, “Bruno Mannheim is known to most of Metropolis as a local hero, a philanthropist who’s revived the struggling neighborhoods of the city. For years, Lois Lane has worked to prove that behind that facade is a career criminal and the head of the notorious organization Intergang. With some new leads, she might be closer than ever.”

Bruno and Intergang had been teased during Superman & Lois’ season two finale when John Diggle (David Ramsay) visited the alternate version of Steel to request his help investigating Mannheim and Intergang – who had murdered the other Steel.

Prior to this, Coleman had a different role in the Arrowverse as Tobias Church on Arrow. Coleman has had a busy career over the last 20 years, including starring in The Wire as Dennis “Cutty” Wise, playing Tyreese in The Walking Dead, appearing in All American, and he had recurring roles in The Expanse and The Orville.

Superman & Lois is scheduled to start filming soon and will return sometime in 2023.
