Superman #1 5.5 Sells For $130,000
run of Superman #1-4 last week in separate transactions. The total amount
between these transactions was $151,000.
The Superman #1 was CGC
certified 5.5 and is currently the fourth highest graded copy sold for a record
$130,000. The certified 8.0 copy of Superman #2 was sold on eBay and is
tied as the second highest copy according the CGC Census and brought $15,500.
The Superman #3 was graded FN+ or 6.5 and sold for $2,800 and the
Superman #4 was CGC certified 7.0 and sold for $2,750.
“These are
the exact type of comics that I want EsquireComics.com to be known for. Key
issue and high grade comics, particularly of Golden Age books,” commented Mark.
“The problem is that as a collector myself, I hated to sell them, and now I need
to find replacement copies!”
