Supergirl Writer Ana Nogueira in Talks to Pen Wonder Woman Script
As Superman continues to fly at the top of the box office, another member of the DC trinity is getting closer to returning to the big screen. DC Studios is in talks with Ana Nogueira to write a script for a Wonder Woman film.
This will be Nogueira’s third project with DC. She wrote the script for 2026’s Supergirl movie and is working on a live-action Teen Titans film. She has spent much of her film career as an actress in The Michael J. Fox Show, The Vampire Diaries, and Hightown.
In June 2025, DC Studios co-chief James Gunn stated that the Wonder Woman movie is being written now. DC is also developing Paradise Island, a TV series that will be set on Wonder Woman’s home of Themyscira.

The Wonder Woman movie will be the hero’s second iteration on the big screen. Gal Gadot was introduced as Diana of Themyscira in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, quickly becoming a favorite among DC’s onscreen superheroes. She starred in 2017’s Wonder Woman and 2020’s Wonder Woman 1984, and the Justice League team-up movie.
Nogueira’s Supergirl movie will star Milly Alcock, who was introduced as the hero in Superman. The movie is based on the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic by Tom King and will be directed by Craig Gillespie (Cruella). It is scheduled for theatrical release on June 26, 2026.
The new Wonder Woman movie does not have a release date yet.
