The fourth season of Stranger Things travels outside of Upside Down-plagued Hawkins, Indiana. A new teaser for the long awaited upcoming season provides the first look at how things are going for Eleven in sunny California.

In the video, Eleven narrates a letter she is writing to Mike that doesn’t match up with what the audience is shown. Trying to put a positive spin on her living situation, Eleven informs him that she is settling in well and making friends, which doesn’t ring true as she’s ostracized at school. Being Stranger Things, teenage problems aren’t the only issues. There’s also gunfire and car chases, suggesting that government agencies are after our favorite telekinetic Eggo-obsessed teen.

Stranger Things season four doesn’t have an exact date yet, but it will return in summer 2022. The regular cast of Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Sadie Sink are all returning.
