On January 24, 2020, Diamond Comic Distributors CEO Steve Geppi celebrates his 70th birthday. Geppi – who is also CEO of Alliance Game Distributors, Diamond Select Toys, Hake’s Auctions, Gemstone Publishing, ComicWow owner, and Baltimore Magazine owner and publisher – shows no sign of slowing down.

In celebration of his birthday, Geppi’s children, Josh Geppi, Gina Geppi, Danielle Geppi-Patras, Breanna Geppi, and Stevie Geppi, hosted a party for him at Liberatore’s Ristorante & Catering on Friday, January 17.

In addition to family, friends, employees, and business associates, the guest list included Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson, Mayor of Baltimore Bernard “Jack” Young, WJZ’s Marty Bass, former DC Comics President and Publisher Paul Levitz, former Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter, Geppi Entertainment & Media’s entire leadership team, and DLA Piper’s Paul Tiburzi, among many others.

Mike McKenzie and his wife, Olga, who recently sold their long-established Alternate Worlds comic shop, one of Diamond’s longest-running accounts, were also among those on hand. Baltimore Comic-Con’s Marc and Shelley Nathan were also in attendance.

“It took 70 years to throw a party worthy of such a great man,” Josh Geppi said. “My sisters Danielle, Gina, and Breanna never cease to amaze me with their creativity and attention to detail, every aspect was absolutely perfect. This party was truly an unforgettable night filled with family and wonderful friends. Happy birthday Pop!”

“My dad has done many things in his life that are worthy of praise and that make his kids proud,” Gina Geppi said. “But seeing how many people value who he is as a person, because of his genuine heart, makes me prouder than anything!”
