Producer Charles Roven has confirmed actor Steve Carrell as the new lead in
his adaptation of the popular ’60s TV series, Get Smart. Carrell, who was
seen earlier this year in NBC’s midseason replacement The Office (based
on the British comedy of the same name) and who is also well known for a string
of comedic film roles, will reprise the role Don Adams originated as detective
Maxwell Smart. Roven says that Carrell’s smart will be slightly “less bumbling.”
