Squid Game 3 Trailer: Gi-hun Faces Frontman, New Game Teased
Tensions are high – and not just the life and death variety – in the new trailer for Squid Game season three. The footage arrived during Netflix’s Tudum fan event on Saturday, May 31, 2025, previewing the latest games and Gi-hun discovering the identity of the Front Man.
The trailer begins with the surviving players walking into their latest nightmare, er… game. Gi-hun/Player 456 (Lee Jung-jae) questions the guards as to why he was spared when he led the group of attackers who tried to take over the facility. Players are taken in groups into what could be a maze, other shots show players ready to fight one on one that includes an image of Hyun-ju/Player 120 (Park Sung-hoon) with blood on her face. It teases that players are still voting on whether or not they should remain in the game, and the giant creepy little girl statue from Red Light, Green Light is seen swinging one half of a jump rope over a narrow bridge.
Myung-gi/Player 333 (Yim Si-wan) confronts the pregnant Jun-hee/Player 222 (Jo Yuri) about trying to survive, Jun-ho (Wi Ha-joon) finally makes it onto the island, and mother Geum-ja/Player 149 (Kang Ae-sim) and son Yong-sik/Player 007 (Yang Dong-geun) are on opposite teams during a game. The packed trailer ends by teasing the moment when Gi-hun finally learns that the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) is the man he thought was his friend.
Squid Game premiered on Netflix in 2021, becoming the all-time most watched TV season on the streamer. The second season arrived in December 2024, reaching the No. 3 spot on Netflix’s most watched TV season list.
The Korean thriller/drama about people playing children’s games where losing means death and winning means a giant pile of money was created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, who also writers, directs, and produces the show. The season three cast also includes Kang Ha-neul as Dae-ho/Player 388, Lee David as Min-su/Player 125, Roh Jae-won as Nam-gyu/Player 124, and Park Gyu-young as No-eul.
