The upcoming Spawn movie has found its writers. Creator Todd McFarlane announced on Twitter that Malcolm Spellman, Scott Silver, and Matthew Mixon are writing the script for the film adaptation of the popular comic.

Spellman has written for TV series like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Empire, and Bel-Air, and is on the writing team for Captain America: New World Order. Silver wrote Joker and its upcoming sequel, as well as 8 Mile and The Fighter. Mixon is a relative newcomer who wrote the documentary Yesterday Was Everything and the shorts Half Man and The Measure.

Not much is known about the new Spawn movie, other than that Jamie Foxx is signed on to star in the film. Other cast members and the director have not been announced yet.

This will be Spawn’s highly anticipated return to the big screen following the 1997 film starring Michael Jai White and John Leguizamo, which was a critical flop. A new film adaption has been teased for several years.

Spawn does not currently have a release window.
