South Park Talking Bobble-Head Figures
It started as a goof, and has evolved and grown into one of the most incisive social satires in television history. Because of the generally dismissive attitude toward animation in this country, cartoon characters can get away with a lot more outrageous and status quo challenging behavior and commentary than live actors addressing the same subject matter. And South Park has continually pushed the boundaries like no other.
In its eleven year history, South Park has taken on a number of weighty issues, ranging from euthanasia, cloning, gender identity, environmentalism, mental and physical disabilities, and terrorism, to politics, Scientology, alien abduction, and the cult of celebrity. And, of course, a generous helping of schoolyard style humor and bodily functions.
The first wave of releases of South Park Talking Bobble-Head Figures has arrived as part of Funko’s licensed Wacky Wobbler series. Each figure speaks one of his signature words or phrases when his head is set in motion. Rotund schemer and mama’s boy Cartman emits an excited “Sweet!”, while perennial victim Butters utters a peevish “Son of a biscuit!” And of course, learning disabled and wheelchair bound Timmy triumphantly bellows his name.
