Propstore’s recent London Music Memorabilia Live Auction hit many high notes, including a Slash guitar that shredded a world record. The auction was held on April 30, 2026, offering 327 instruments, handwritten lyrics, stage-used pieces, and personal items. When the final song was played, the auction had reached £1.9 million ($2.4 million) in sales.

Slash’s Guns N’ Roses photo-matched, tour-used, and autographed Gibson Les Paul ’59 Custom Shop guitar hammered for £233,100 ($307,692). The sale made it the most expensive Slash guitar that was ever sold at auction.

George Michael’s photo-matched “Faith” music video and tour custom La Rocka leather jacket went for £176,400 ($232,848). It set a new auction record for a George Michael costume piece and became the second highest price paid for George Michael memorabilia sold at auction.

The auction also saw success from the Peter Hince’s Queen collection, that collectively brought £350,000 ($462,000). It was led by Freddie Mercury’s Gold Shure 565 SD Microphone Award that reached £151,200 ($199,584). According to Propstore, it is the first of his microphones with direct provenance to come to market.

“I’m absolutely thrilled with how the auction has turned out, especially seeing Freddie’s gold microphone achieve such a strong price,” Hince said. “It means a lot to know these pieces are going to fans who truly appreciate what Queen meant and still means today. I’ve really enjoyed working with Propstore on this, and I’m so pleased to see the collection find such an enthusiastic audience.”

Highlights continued with a John Lennon signed and annotated Double Fantasy promotional poster – one of the last four items he signed – that went for £75,600 ($99,792). Ed Sheeran’s screen-matched and signed jacket and worn ensemble pieces from the “Shape of You” music video realized £66,150 ($87,318). A David Gilmour signed Pink Floyd set list from A Momentary Lapse of Reason tour brought £44,100 ($58,212).

George Harrison’s handwritten “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” sheet music and signed Live in Japan book proof page reached £37,800 ($49,896). Michael Jackson’s 1987 Pepsi commercial fedora, David Bowie’s Aladdin Sane concept cover vintage proof print, and Oasis’ Noel Gallagher’s Les Paul custom 30th anniversary guitar each achieved £34,650 ($45,738).

“Today’s auction delivered some truly exceptional results, with multiple records broken across the sale,” Propstore’s Music Specialist Mark Hochman said. “The standout performance of Slash’s stage-used Gibson Les Paul guitar, which set a new world record for Slash memorabilia, was a real highlight. The strength of the results and the level of engagement from collectors around the world during our Music Live Auction speak to the true enduring appeal of these iconic artists and the material connected to them.”
