During Skybound Xpo on Friday, May 14, 2021, Image/Skybound teased the first comic book appearance of Clementine, the star of Telltale’s The Walking Dead video game series. They also previewed cover art for the upcoming weekly series event, Skybound X.

Talents signed on for the Skybound X limited series include Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, Tillie Walden, Donny Cates, Joshua Williamson, Chip Zdarsky, James Harren, and Daniel Warren Johnson. The series debuts on Wednesday, July 7.

The new cover art includes the main cover for Skybound X #2 featuring Rick Grimes 2000 by Cliff Rathburn, the main cover for Skybound X #4 with Rick Grimes versus Negan by Charlie Adlard, and a variant for Skybound X #5 of the Six Sidekicks of Trigger Keaton by Chris Schweizer.

Each issue of Skybound X will include a chapter from the “Rick Grimes 2000” story that began in The Walking Dead #75, reuniting the Invincible team of Kirkman and Ottley. The series also includes the first appearances of Everyday Hero Machine Boy, Sea Serpent’s Heir, Excellence, Manifest Destiny, Ultramega, Assassin Nation, and more.
