The friendship between Sophie and Violet is a bit strained right now. Namely, because Violet is taking over Sophie’s bodies to kill the sorority sisters that are responsible for her death. After the last death, Sophie was arrested and taken to the police station. Frightened and feeling hopeless, Sophie wants to be rid of Violet, but her best friend isn’t finished with her murder spree.

The bonds of friendship have definitely cracked in the latest issue of Sisterhood A Hyde Street Story. Maytal Zchut has written a good revenge story with a complicated co-dependent friendship. At first, Sophie wanted to help bring her friend’s killers to justice, but she’s confronted by the realization that her best friend has become a vengeful monster. Violet is no longer hiding what she really wants to do to the sorority sisters and is lashing out at Sophie. The story shows how quickly situations can spiral out of control and the escalating viciousness that occurs when seeking revenge.

Artist Leila Leiz and colorist Alex Sinclair continue to shine with the many clever ways that Violet’s reflection appears. There are great shots of Sophie’s point of view during a disorienting scene and more of the underwater spirit world that illustrates its oppressiveness.
