Seth Green’s Freshmen 20th Anniversary Collection on Kickstarter
Seth Green and Hugh Sterbakov’s Freshmen comic series about emerging superpowers during a pivotal turning point in the lives of young adults is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a new hardcover edition. The collection that includes a new one-shot is open for backing on Kickstarter from Top Cow Productions.
Freshmen is the story of socially awkward first year college students who develop superpowers after a laboratory accident that range from powerful to just plain silly. One character is a telepath who can enter and control other people’s minds and another can create earthquakes. But then there’s one whose drunken burps can intoxicate others and there’s one that is incredibly sticky. The book is part superhero adventure, part college comedy, and part coming of age tale.
The Freshmen: Complete Collection contains all 12 issues from the first and second volumes, the digital exclusive issue 1.5 from volume two, Freshman Summer Vacation Special, and bonus material that was previously printed in Freshman Yearbook.

It also features the new 32-page Freshman: 20th Anniversary Reunion Special written by series creators Green and Sterbakov with art by original series artist Leonard Kirk. It is set during the classmates’ 20th reunion get-together where they reminisce about friendship, old flames, adult life, and a disastrous mission from their past.
The collection comes with new covers by Kirk and Rodolfo Migliari.
Pledge levels start at $15 for the digital collection and digital wallpaper, and the standard hardcover with 450 pages of content and the digital collection is $39. A copy signed by Green and Sterbakov with an exclusive dustjacket, enamel pins, and a print is $75. There’s also a retailer bundle and a deluxe bundle with even more goodies.
The Kickstarter campaign has already more than doubled its $10,000 goal; it runs until September 17, 2026.
