September 17-18: OAFCon
On Saturday and Sunday, September 17-18, 2022, the Oklahoma Alliance of Fans (OAF) is hosting the annual OAFCon. The event will be held at the Embassy Suites, located at 2501 Conference Drive, Norman, OK.
This old school comic convention will host over 60 exhibitors selling comic books, vintage toys, movie posters, and other collectibles. Attendees can also bring their own material to buy, sell, or trade with vendors.
The show will feature regional comic artists, an original art presentation, readings of upcoming books on comic fandoms, presentation of an OAF Legends statue, and live collectibles auction.
This year’s featured guest is author Mike Chapman, who has written 32 books, and has interviewed the likes of Ronald Reagan and Muhammad Ali, and several others. Chapman will discuss the time he spent with actors who have played Tarzan and hold a Q&A session.
Other guests include Anthony Tollin (Crisis on Infinite Earths, Batman: A Death in the Family colorist), J. David Spurlock (comics historian and director of the Wally Wood Estate), and Steve Borock (Senior Consignment Director and Buyer for MyComicShop.com).
The show is open on Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Tickets are $5 at the door.
