Just as The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #43 hit stores in July 2013, the first printing of The Overstreet Guide To Collecting Comics sold out from Diamond Comic Distributors.

Now the new printing is listed on Page 328 in the September edition of PREVIEWS. This edition will go on sale in November with the choice of two covers.

The standard edition will feature Joe Jusko’s powerful version of Spider-Man, recreation of his own work on the famous Marvel Masterpieces trading cards set. For the Previews Exclusive second printing, an all-star team of Valiant artists past and present have come together for a multi-generational array of Valiant characters. Sean Chen (Iron Man) illustrated the original version of X-O Manowar, Lee Garbett (Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne) drew the modern iteration of Ninjak, and Bob Hall (Batman: I, Joker) depicted the second version of Shadowman. David Baron colored the final piece.

This cover marks the first time the different eras of these Valiant characters have appeared together. It’s also the third Valiant cover appearance after X-O Manowar was featured on The Big, Big Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #42 last year and Shadowman was given the spotlight on The Big, Big Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #43 (which will go on sale Wednesday, July 31).

When it was released in 2012, The Overstreet Guide To Collecting Comics was the first new Overstreet-branded book in more than a decade, and it was also the first book in Gemstone Publishing’s new “How To” series about collecting, and it received wide praise.

“A wonderful info-packed gift idea for long-time fans and those new to the comics hobby,” said Joe Field of Flying Colors Comics. …it covers literally every aspect of learning the ins and outs of collecting comic books. “I wish I had one of these when I first started out,” said Vincent Zurzolo of Metropolis Collectibles & ComicConnect.  “The go-to name in comics values has created the go-to book for comics collecting,” said Benn Ray of Atomic Books.

The Overstreet Guide To Collecting Comics is the first book in the Overstreet “How To” series. The second volume, The Overstreet Guide To Collecting Comic & Animation Art, is due out in October.
