Scream queens are a staple in horror movies. They are the final girls who best nearly unbeatable bogeymen to become icons of the horror genre. And now some of the genre’s most enduring scream queens are starring in a comic book.

American Mythology’s Starring Sonya Devereaux title is getting a new book with Scream Queen Summer Camp Massacre. Actresses Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, Tiffany Shepis, and Michelle Bauer star in the book, which is now seeking backers on Indiegogo.

In the book, the scream queens appear at a horror convention held at an infamous summer camp. “Their camp uniforms are too small, there’s only one stall so showering becomes a group activity, and the original serial killer, Rag Face, is back to continue his streak of creative, gory murders – and to stalk the sexy starlets,” the description reads.

Starring Sonya Devereaux: Scream Queen Summer Camp Massacre #1 is written by Todd Livingston and Nick Capetanakis, with art by Brendon and Brian Fraim, and colors by Matt Webb. It features two covers by the Fraims – a DVD/BD case cover and a comics parody homage.

Pledge levels start at $10 for a digital copy and other swag up to $500 to be drawn in a future issue of Starring Sonya Devereaux. The Indiegogo campaign is open through early December 2021.
