Savage Dragon Featured in Baltimore Comic-Con Yearbook
The Baltimore Comic-Con will head back to the Baltimore Convention Center on September 25-27, 2026. The annual yearbook will see artist guests providing their interpretation of writer-artist Erik Larsen’s Savage Dragon.
Designed by Love and Capes creator Thom Zahler, the book is available in standard format and a limited VIP cover edition.

Larsen originally created Savage Dragon when he was a kid, then introduced him in his self-published Graphic Fantasy #1 (June 1982). When Larsen co-founded Image Comics, he published a three-issue miniseries starring the fin-headed, green-skinned humanoid character in 1992. The Savage Dragon ongoing series began in June 1993, and has run continuously since then with the most recent issue 280 scheduled for publication in July 2026. Larsen has been the driving force on the book for the entirety of its run.
“It’s been 14 long years since I was last in Baltimore and I’m looking forward to returning!” Larsen said. “Having Savage Dragon be the Yearbook theme for 2026 is icing on the cake! I can’t wait to see how other guests of the show interpret the characters and incorporate them into their work!”
The yearbook is part of Baltimore Comic-Con’s scavenger hunt. Attendees who buy the yearbook will get a list of its contributors and their table numbers. Attendees who collect the required number of signatures can get bonus prints.

“Comics, in general, feature many iconic characters, but it’s hard to think of one more immediately recognizable than Savage Dragon,” Baltimore Comic-Con show promoter Marc Nathan said. “Erik’s creation has been a mainstay of comics for so long, it’s become a staple for comics lovers. We knew this was going to be a fun character for our guests to work with this year, and the response was immediate and enthusiastic. You’re going to see some fantastic pieces in the yearbook, as well as original pieces of art available for bid at our yearbook art auction this year. And don’t miss the chance to talk to the artists who created the pieces about the fun they had by doing the autograph scavenger hunt this year too!”
Art that is created for the yearbook will be sold at the Baltimore Comic-Con Art Auction on September 26. The book will be sold at the show’s exclusives booth in the lobby, selling for $29.99.
