On Saturday, May 10, 2014, children, parents, teachers, and fans of comic books, manga, graphic novels, animation, anime, sci-fi, movies, pop culture and fantasy literature will have an opportunity to enter into a world of wondrous imagination, fun and learning at the Kids Comic Con 8 (KCC 8) taking place at the Bronx Community College, 181st Street and University Avenue, Bronx, New York, from 10 AM to 6 PM.

The annual event continues KCC’s mission to encourage positivity through imagination and creativity, with special kid-targeted programming including drawing workshops, special presentations, cosplayers, panels and autograph signings by a variety of comics industry and children’s entertainment professionals.

“KCC’s primary goal is to promote reading, creativity, and exploration in kids’ lives,” KCC organizer Alex Simmons said. “We believe it’s so important that young people embrace a continuous flow of positive ideas, skills, and outlets for their thinking as well as self-esteem. This year’s theme is ‘Everyday Heroes!’ So come share the day and the magic.”

Those interested in participating in the event are encouraged to contact Alex Simmons via email at Alex@KidsComicCon.com or to visit the official KCC website at www.kidscomiccon.com for more details. Whether you’re an artist or writer with your own comic book, manga series or graphic novel or a multi-media artist, performer or educator with a unique and entertaining way to reach out to children, Kids Comic Con wants you!
